Hi Shannon. I 've been away for a while also (by choice). Despite all efforts...Impeachment probably won't happen.
But criminal charges will NEVER be "off the table". Forget the Impeachment books....Instead read THE SHOCK DOCTRINE by NAOMI KLEIN. I don't think ANYONE has ever connected the dots so thoroughly.

I am so happy that you have decided to return. I have learned so much from you! (-: Thank you for the book suggestions. I have started a list to order. Are you the one that suggested The End of America by Naomi Wolf?? (Maybe it was Monique?! (-: )
You are right...real change starts at the bottom. Some people have the idea that Impeachment will happen and the next day all will be right in our country. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Change is such a slow process. It's very easy to get frustrated and give up. You, along with others on this site, help me keep on fighting when I feel hopeless. (-:
Thank you for returning, too, Anita. You will never know just how much you have helped me. I look forward to all that I will learn from you this year, too!! (-:

Shannon...really good to hear from you. The end of America by Naomi Wolf IS a must read, but I'm sure you are already aware of what she writes. A great book to share with people who refuse to believe "IT CAN HAPPEN HERE". I'm glad I had any part in helping you fight that feeling of hopelessness....a feeling all to common to those of us who refuse to be "Dumbed Down" by corporate media. How's school going? And how are you feeling (health)? Did I see somewhere here, that Pete Phoenix is in New Jersey?

School has been on hold since last summer because of my health. I was hoping to take at least one class this semester, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Maybe I will be able to take a class this summer.
Yes, Mr. Pete Phoenix is now in New Jersey~ happily married to Saba. (-: I know, it's crazy, why would someone move here? LOL Only for love!!! (-:

Hmmm...the only author I'm familiar with is Congressman John Conyers...and I have a feeling that his book will be a little on the wonky-side. It'll be informative, no doubt, but a little dense. Have you tried to read any of Al Gore's books? Same thing. Brilliant information, but MAN you gotta really plough through them.
Couple other good reads:

Armed Madhouse by Greg Palast*
Cracking the Code by Thom Hartman
Worse that Watergate by John Dean (former Nixon Counsel)
F.U.B.A.R.; America's Right Wing Nightmare by Sam Seder

...just in case you suddenly get more time on your hands :o)

*this one REALLY pissed off the Bush Crime Family. Greg Palast suddenly found himself in a world of I.R.S. shit after the book came out.
