Welcome, Jack. Look forward to hearing more from you!
I'm here to promote (still ... potentially now for 9/11/08) nationwide strike / boycott. Listened yesterday to George Katsiaficas on France's nationwide strike of 1968. This is a new millenium... In the U.S. we have (unconstitutional) laws / executive orders, etc., thanks to Bush, that make street protests unproductive / unwise, IMO. .. and "emboldened" law enforcement with high-tech "non-lethal" weapons to enforce same. So, Pledge To Impeach's strike is a STAY HOME tactic--one of passive resistance whose accompanying boycott doesn't infuse the economy even with the monies that street protests do (buses, permits, legal costs, signage, dining, etc.).
Do you have an opinion?
