About me
Mom, Life Partner, Artist, Passive Activist!

Yes, I served in the Navy, but have been out for over 15yrs. I wouldn't say I'm "proud" to have served, but I am proud that as a former Military Member that I can speak from experience...also from the perspective of being a mother to an 18yr old son as well as a Gay Female.
My life has been impacted in so many various ways by Bush and his cronies, and none of them positively.

War if to protect our nation and it's citizens is one thing, but to illegally start a personal war on false pretence by invading a Sovereign nation that was no imediate threat to our citizens or boarders (but also lieing about the entire situation the whole time), solely to so he and his friends can personally profit from illegal dealings over oil and money...that's CRIMINAL!
Bush not only should be Impeached but tried as a traitor and war criminal!
Organizations I belong to
HRC, ACLU, Equality Illinois, Suburban Moms Against the War, Illinois Veterans Against the War, DuPage Anti-War, The Center On Halsted, Wheaton Drama, GLAAD

Books

Music
I'm kind of open about my music. I'm not all that into Opera, but there are some good ones. I'm not all that into rap either. Personally I'm too old to change my definition of "rap" which is to "talk" and therefore CANNOT be a music genre. It's an oxymoron.
Heroes and influences
Eleanor Roosevelt, Elizabeth Cady Staton, Odetta, Maya Angelou, Golda Meir, Madaline Albright, Beverly Sills, Ida B. Wells, Mother Jones "The Most dangerous woman in the World", Sojourner Truth (Isabella Baumfree), Sappho, St. Joan (Jean D'Arch), Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Sidney Poitier, Pete Seger, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, James Madison, Thomas Paine, Richard Henry Lee and Samuel Adams. (Yup I kinda dug those Anti-Federalists!)

I've moved...

Yup, that's right.
My partner and I have moved from Illinois to Pennsylvania (or as some say "Pennsyl-Tuckey").

I'm totally isolated here and missing my home in the Chicago Suburbs terribly.

This all came on fairly suddenly as I actually thought I 'd live out the rest of my life right where I grew up. I purposefully returned to the Chicago area after my divorce in '91, wanting my son to grow up where I did. Where I had family, friends and was completely comfortable being my…

My severance from the AF was equally bad, but for far more insidious reasons. I'd left the AF an E6 at 10 years, obtained my degree, and returned with a commission. That was in 86, and already several forces were in motion that would ensure that I and and over 90% of my prior-enlisted officer peers would never finish our careers. Ever hear of "The Purge of '91?" There had to be a list somewhere of who would stay, and who'd be dumped. I watched my final OER start as a "1" and end as a "3" because some gray-hair with an office window decided that salt/pepper-haired captains (O3) weren't a welcome sight in "his AF." Interestingly enough, the guy they did finally promote left the service before he ever pinned on his tracks. Our division lost 8 good lieutenants that way, and all the while, the base was screaming that they needed our talents and experience... I had 6 strong job offers, all O3/O4 promotable, and all squashed by a single 2-star with head-up-and-locked syndrome. They gave me an honorable discharge, a small chunk of change (My recent retirement from a private company after only 13 years was and is SO much better...), and showed me the door. I haven't looked back...

Hmm. My comment didn't stick. Suffice it to say that I've seen the harassment women face in the military -- most of it sexual, and never did like it. My first bout in that arena though, was my doubt as to whether a woman could actually be a good airplane mechanic. Well, she showed me well, passed me up making NCO, nearly took over "my plane," before being assigned one of her own, and survived enough to teach me a number of lessons, most of which, I like to believe, have stuck with me these past 30+ years.

You've sure had a bit thrown your way, haven't you? I was 'killed' in the "Purge of '91" as well, just as Desert Storm kicked-off, being a prior-enlisted officer in an Air Force where we were no longer valued, we no longer mattered. Being openly pagan didn't help matters then either. So, here we are today -- different in means, but both "alternative" to the mainstream. And, I don't see much hope for our kinds unless we stand up and toe it in, ourselves... Got plans?

We're all getting mad, even at each other out of frustration here! The bastards are just so physically close to us.

Hello everyone. Trying to Impeach the bastards and end the rule of the criminal cabal in The White House is so frustrating without the passion and the popular uprising of the 60s! To much talk; too little action for my tastes and perspective. Maybe the September 15 Rally in DC will pave the way to change.
My anger is not well hidden in the posts that I give you reference to today.

Stacey unlike the Bush administrator I listen, and I have extended invitations to those kindred spirits, because you never know when someone might offer and idea or viewpoint that proves to be important. I have attempted to find a good cross section of folks with which I can communicate. WELCOME ABOARD. Tonight I go to try to wake up an Arlington County organization that needs motivation and focus.

So that you might get a good idea of what is going on in this part of the world, is the shadow of Washington DC, and the ever present Masonic Phallic Symbol on the hill for which we are famous or infamous let me first direct you to The Alexandria Advocates Alliance site, the resident home of a petition calling for the Impeachment of both George Bush and Dick Cheney. You find there not only the petition in its’ entirety with internal documentation links, but a comprehensive summary as well as an outline summary. There is also a link to my working paper notes on the Jefferson Manual procedure for introducing this matter to the House of Representatives. The petition is now open to residents of Virginia and we are hard at work with and or two House members to sanction its submission: Rep. Jim Moran of this jurisdiction and a cosigner of the Kucinich H. Res. 333 Cheney Impeachment Resolution and Mr. Kucinich who has already honored such pleadings.
http://alexandriaadvocatesalliance.blogspot.com/2007/06/alexandria-advocates-alliance-home-page.html
I also direct you to the following link to Project (3rd Continental Congress)to be be held in Philadelphia in late October if all goes well and sufficient folks desire to participate in a process redefining just what this nation is and should be all about.
http://courtofimpeachmentandwarcrimes.blogspot.com/2007/08/call-for-new-third-continental-congress.html
In addition we are all in support of the A.N.S.W.E.R.org program to produce a Million Man March on DC on September 15.
http://courtofimpeachmentandwarcrimes.blogspot.com/2007/08/answerorg-september-15-organization.html
And on behalf of that effort we found ourselves needed to respond quickly to the insanity that took place in the DC Fenty Administration today..to wit.

That’s it for now!
