Jim, my husbands a Veteran from Vietnam, he was wounded 2 months before he was to get out. He has been nothing but humiliated in the veterans hospital here in mi. Keep on speaking out to all, for what you and all veterans have endured. Peace!
So glad to know you Jim. Your story is especially heart rendering.
The truth does matter, and if you do wrong against society you should expect to pay societies price, whether you're rich or poor. Blind justice shouldn't have pockets to load.
That certain people can 'buy their way out' drives me nuts. Let us see them buy their way out of hell, because if there is one, surely these criminals now in office that hi-jacked our government of, and for the people, are going there.
I would appreciate hearing from others; my own story is that of the Armed Forces Retirement Home decimation/destruction under the auspices of the Department of Defense and the mismanagement of Mr. Timothy C. Cox, appointed by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld as Chief Operating Officer of the Home. He has dishonored all military by the manner and lack of leadership involved in the Cheney quest to privatize the Home, destroying the careers of hundreds of dedicated people who loved the military veterans and retirees they worked for and with---the manner in which these people were treated is nothing less than despicable, especially in the case of Air Force LtCol Wendy VanDyke. You can read more about the the investigation that went nowhere, the DOD IG report H05L95546042 dated 26September05. It's available at the DOD IG Reading Room online. It clearly finds that LtCol VanDyke's right to due process was thoroughly trampled by Mr. Cox, yet he retains his job. Others at fault were the DOD, the Air Force, the Navy, and the Navy JAG, who buckled under pressure by higher authority to 'forget' due process, forget rights, and forget justice in their quest to get rid of LtCol VanDyke, who is now retired. She was the best leader we residents had, and the only reason she was railroaded was because she occupied a position (Deputy Director, AFRH Gulfport) they wanted to place their favorite CIVILIAN in. Her treatment included 60 days of virtual house arrest, humiliation, degradation, and finally retirement. Her story will be told, but I hold the Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld administration accountable for the atrocities committed against her and the residents of the Armed Forces Retirement Home.
