- Born in the midwest, grew up on the west coast, refusing to grow up on the East coast. It's all my Dad's fault, 'cuz he was a radical environmentalist. Now I'm an establishment environmentalist in my day job and a weekend warrior.
- Interests
- I like mooovees and walks on the beeeeach, Traaavul. No reeely I do. I avoid corporate TV, and listen to a lot of public affairs podcasts. I maintain a blog and am getting involved in a public affairs program to be broadcast on public access TV and by other means. Art (see 'other profile'), fiddle, mandolin, I do the cooking, the garden provides mental relaxation, commuter biking, etc.

- recent ones... reading Shipping News (again), The Stranger, The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood, God of Small Things, Girl with the Pearl Earring. The best is Sometimes a Great Notion by Ken Kesey (1971).
- Music
- I like it all. Have collected bluegrass/folk and blues. Have a fair amount of Peter Gabriel. Recent addition is Fernando Herrera (he's on Flashpoints KPFA on Fridays). I get lots of world music from my girlfriend's collection.
- Movies
- Been watching movies about the middle east and crusades recently (I'll never update this thing... just watch April 2007). House of Sand, Little Miss Sunshine, Everyting is Illuminated, Goodbye Lenin, Cold Summer of 1953.
- Heroes and influences
- My mom and dad, MLK, Dave Henson.... recently Kenseth Armisted. I think Naomi Klein is a clear thinker and it shows in her writing, Bill Moyers, Paul Krugman, and of course Amy Goodman.

Getting Oriented
I'll have to get better oriented to this site. Hopefully, there will be enough inertia to keep this forum going, and to keep people hammering on the message to impeach Cheney.
