July 2 2007 show run down - Jul 02,2007

We heard from members of IVAW (Iraq Veterans Against The War) who are touring the East Coast military towns, hosting BBQs for active duty members of the armed forces.

Two members of the tour Liam Madden and Adam Kokesh, have been accused of disloyal conduct and protesting the war while in uniform by IRR military command. One hearing has resulted in Adam's receiving a other than honorable discharge, which he is fighting. Liam was facing similar charges, they were dropped friday June 29th. On Sunday, July, 1st, 2007,

Three members of the crew were arrested at the front gate of Fort Benning, Geopgia. So, we did not get a chance to talk with them diectly. However, the driver of the bus, Jim Goodnow was able to call in a report about the arrests.

About me
Volunteer media activist since Sept, 11, 2001. I left a nice job teaching multimedia to artists in Northern California to work for peace. In 2005, I painted like a upside down American flag a bus with my friends in Veterans For Peace to drive across the country calling for the IMPEACHMENT of President Bush and Krewe. On our trip to Dallas in August of 2005, we drove Cindy Sheehan to Crawford, TX. and began her vigil that lasted until Sept. We then drove to New Orleans to assist in the relief and recovery effort. Almost to years later, I'm still here in New Orleans documenting what has and has not happened.

Bush Iraq Emails Not Recoverable

By Matt Renner t r u t h o u t | Report Wednesday 07 May 2008 A late-night court filing by the White House on Monday revealed that official administration emails about the run up to the invasion of Iraq and the initial occupation may never be recovered. Whistleblowers have accused the White House of destroying email records from their internal servers. The Bush administration disputes this accusation, claiming instead that many emails were stored incorrec… Continue

House panel subpoenas top Cheney aide

By PAMELA HESS – 2 hours ago WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Judiciary Committee voted Tuesday to compel a top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney to testify to the committee about the Bush administration's interrogation practices. David Addington, Cheney's chief of staff, refused to testify without a subpoena. No date has been set for his appearance before Congress. Addington is one of several lawyers believed to have played a key role in crafting the administration's interrogation policies short… Continue

PBS on Iraq: A Compilation of Deceit

By Morgan Strong There have been five agonizing years of this war in Iraq. Five terrible years of bewilderment and rage. Commemorating that anniversary, Frontline, the PBS investigative series, allotted four-and-one-half hours over two nights to an in-depth analysis of the war in Iraq and how it came about. What the broadcast revealed was nothing new. Others have engaged the subject as thoroughly as did Frontline. What we did see in this broadcast, however, was a compilation of the deceit, pe… Continue

Gordon, It appears the the Koreans have begun to publish reports of crimes against civilians in that war. There is an ugly history dating back to the massacre on native americans which carries on to the present. I support impeachment to bring all these crimes to light before a grand jury. I would be glad to help promote it on my radio shows. The schedule for EnergyTalk LIVE is posted at AlternativeEnergy.com and my shows are on Tuesdays. The call-in number is 347-838-8999 and you can set reminders at BlogTalkRadio.com/AlternativeEnergyCom

I will be posting the shows as regular events on the Ning sites and all of our Experts LIVE shows are recorded and archived at BTR. We offer this as an educational tool to any one from the energy discussion boards and especially the Social Networks' Organizers.

Gordon,
Keep up the great work!
Please read my post about the MAY 1st strike!
If you agree (please feel free to comment!), let everyone you know become aware... THIS is our (last?) chance--for impeachment, for ending the occupation of Iraq, AT LEAST for forcing our topics into the presidential campaigns!

I'd like to do something for New orleans when I get back from Beijing. I teach English, but not kids, just high-schoolers to adults. I've worked with immigrants and trained in adult literacy program...any way I could help out?
It's really hard for me to speak of New Orleans without crying. Sometimes my students (university) ask me about it. It's hard, but I choke my way through and basically say the government ignored its duty but individual people came to the rescue as many as could, as fast as they could, and that I believe Chinese people would do the same under similar circs. But I can't help tears springing to my eyes. I want to help too. This is crazy to let an entire city be forgotten. It is a national treasure -- New Orleans isn't very well known in China, but it is in Europe and anywhere there are people who love jazz and blues, which is all over the globe. The people who want to come back to their home should be able to, even though they know it could happen again. People want to go home, no matter where that is.

Thanks, Gordon, for posting the Very Important video of Rep. Wexler speaking passionately about investigating Kucinich's charges against Cheney via H.Res.799 which is in the Judiciary Committee. You posted this around midnight last night (depending upon one's time zone), after the news broke (Dec. 14). Since I consider this one of the BEST bits of nooz, second only to Kucinich's 2 resolutions, relative to impeachment, I figured 'twas important enough for me to also post, despite duplication. ANY advances like this, IMO, are good for as many of us to post as possible (giving higher search engines results pointing to ImpeachSpace, too).
In solidarity,
Pat

Oh my God! You know Cindy? I LOVE Cindy! I met her at the Sept.15 protest and got a picture w/ her. I was SO excited. She's such an inspiration and proof that you can never get arrested too many times for what you believe in. She is an incredible woman and you gotta love how she doesn't accept defeat. We need more ppl like her in this country.

That's a good idea, and one I'd have never considered. I'll check into it. Thanks:)
